RAA, one of Australia’s largest automobile associations, and South Australia’s most pervasive tourism retailer, has chosen V3 as its technology partner to transition its extensive travel business away from legacy manual systems into the automated online market.
RAA is looking to lead the local industry, and their members and customers, into booking dynamic experiential holiday ‘packages’ online, in real time, from a range of initially local accommodation, tours, attractions, and event providers. It is then planned to extend to national and international tourism product providers that are dynamically connected to V3’s OBXTM travel platform (branded Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA) in Australia).
After an extensive review of software solutions and vendors, RAA selected V3 and TXA as the single travel platform that can deliver the broadest range of accommodation, tours and activities of all sizes and types, in real time. RAA commissioned V3 to develop and build the consumer journey for fulfillment for RAA members and consumers, both online and through RAA call centres, retail shops and consultants.
The partnership adds RAA.com.au, call centres, retail shops and consultants to the more than 200 channels integrated with TXA and means that tourism businesses can now seamlessly automatically update their inventory, whether accommodation, tours attractions or events and rates to the booking channels.
Integration of the RAA channels to TXA presents a massive opportunity for South Australian tourism businesses to reach, attract and book more travelers.
Shane Crockett, V3 CEO says, “We are delighted to partner with RAA providing first rate technology for the South Australian industry and yet another channel to market their inventory. We are particularly proud to provide the technology solution that delivers dynamic real-time content, availability, rates and booking across online and traditional bricks and mortar channels. South Australian tourism businesses benefit from RAA’s local presence, local knowledge and commitment to developing both the State and regional travel market.”
RAA’s implementation plan is currently planned in two stages; the first for local South Australian experiential ‘package’ holidays and self-created holidays, in real time, via the RAA’s online distribution channel. Then move to focus on interstate and international holidays.
V3 is a technology and marketing company established in 2001. V3’s Open Booking ExchangeTM (OBXTM)travel platform was chosen by tender to deliver the technology platform which is branded Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA) in Australia. In partnership with all of the Government Tourism bodies in Australia, V3 has deployed TXA nationally.
V3’s mission is to help all tourism businesses, large, small and micro, across all tourism segments fully engage in the global online marketplace to drive more online bookings.
